I’m responsible for helping steer BBC Comedy further into Digital. On BBC Three we are investing in new talent online and commissioning shows which premiere in the iPlayer, as a way to grow comedians, writers, directors and producers for the future.
We’re also interested in how audiences can use technology and social media to interact with live broadcast comedy, making it more like a night out at a live gig. And then there’s digital storytelling and immersive experiences: we won a BAFTA and a Lovie last year for ‘The Psychoville Experience’, but where should we be looking next in terms of enhancing or extending our narrative comedy? On a more experimental note, I’m interested in putting viewers inside the shows, for example for a horror sitcom pilot, we allowed viewers to explore the house where it’s set and get a few scares…

Questions Answered:
What is the BBC’s approach to digital comedy? What are the opportunities to work with the BBC on developing new comedy content and experiences? How scary is that thing you mentioned?

Speaker Bio: I'm a digital producer who has created websites, videos, games, interactive experiences and social media in a variety of shapes and sizes, including the BAFTA and Lovie award winning Psychoville. I aim for funny, scary, innovative, rich, immersive and engaging. I am currently producing "C-Bomb", a pilot for BBC Three.
